Super cozy upscale dining. Everything on the menu is scrumptious and the service is awesome! We love their garlic bread, filet mignon, lamb, and clam pasta!
Peter's Inn was a good meal, but holy @#$& is it expensive for what you get.
Our table ordered three steaks at the server's recc since Peter's is "known for them," but I can't say they were worth the price given steaks I've had at other restaurants in the city. The tomahawk was twice as expensive as the NY strip, but only seemed to only have a little.bit more meat. Most of the added cost seems to just be for the bone, so I'd 100% recommend steering clear of that steak if you really are jonesing for one.
I was disappointed by the steak sides in particular because all three were served with cookie cutter steamed veg + pomme puree. Kind of lazy to me given that the plates ranged from $44 -$82. Also, one of the steak plates in particular had an unpleasantly stringy/tough batch of green beans compared to the other two plates. Not sure why that plate was so different. Also, the tomahawk was served with a really random jar of beets...??? π€π€·ββοΈ Still confused about how that fit in.
I personally ordered small plates of fois gras, braised short rib, and nduja with various fixings over toast. Everyone agreed that the short rib was the best plate we got. Jus was to die for. π€ Fois gras was good, but the portion of it was really small + was overwhelmed by the sweetness of the marmalade and accompanying fruit. Nduja was pretty tasty, but was kind of difficult to eat due to the hardness of toast they served it on. I'd still recommend it though.
We also ordered the house salad + four slices of the garlic toast that reviews raved on and on about. The salad was well-dressed and refreshing. The bread was good, but I can't say that I found it to be a must-have. This might be blasphemous, but it honestly reminded me of those take-and-bake garlic breads you get in the grocery store. π€·ββοΈ
We also ordered a martini, Manhattan, and grapefruit margarita. The first two were on point, but the margarita was kinda rough. The service was really pleasant though and the bathroom was interesting. π
TL:DR; Get anything but the tomahawk steak and you will probably be okay with the meal (and hit to your wallet πΈπΈπΈ).
I had dinner here yesterday and it was a wonderful experience. The NY Strip was supper yummy, tender & juicy. I loved the quaint neighborhood feel. Although I dined alone I really enjoyed myself. Itβs now on my list of cool spots to take family, friends & out of town guests.
We had an amazing dinner here. The Braised Short Rib en Croute blew me out of the water! My partner absolutely loved the One Bite Scallop and the Garlic bread. The cocktails were delightful and the to-go dessert was amazing.
The food was probably the worst I ever ate at around this price point. Photo is from the dish I got, super small, but the problem was, it wasn't even tasty. At all! It was the dish the server recommended... My friend's New York strip was completely overcooked, though he asked for medium rare.
Peter's Inn is so Baltimore (no pretense) and the food and drinks are always, always fantastic. Best Manhattan in Baltimore. The garlic bread is iconic. Steak, salad, pot de creme. Do it. I've had many birthday dinners at Peter's, it feels special without being fancy.
The experience at Peter's Inn was fantastic. Our server was relaxed and knowledgeable. She had us feeling great about our choices (not bad choice there!) and provided attentive service. The food was great and the ambiance left me with feeling that I was at a quintessential Baltimore location.
Above and beyond, from service to a dynamically changing menu that keeps it fresh and delicious.
